A Kenyan children's publisher has just released a children's activity map of Nairobi in a bid to help parents know where to take with their children over the Christmas holidays.
Dubbed '99 Things to Do with Kids in Nairobi', the publication is a follow up of '99 Things to Do in Nairobi'.
“We knew we would do one for children so it was a no-brainer especially since most parents do not where to take their children for fun activities,” said JC Niala, the founder of Kiko Pro-a children's publishing house that released the map.
The publication which came out about a month a go is the latest map of Nairobi which has spots of kids activities.
“On one side of the publication there is a map of Nairobi with 99 spots of child friendly activities while on the other side is a short description of each labelled 1-99,” said JC.
The map has a variety of activities for children both indoor and outdoor,
“We have featured some of the classics like a Safari Walk at Nairobi National Park and have also reminded people of forgotten areas like Sno-Cream which is considered one of the oldest ice-cream parlours in the capital,”said JC.
Those looking for indoor fun will be pleased to learn of areas such as BlueSky Rock Climbing in Parklands.
In the map, JC and he team have ensured to put down activities or places that actually have things to do.
“You will notice that we will not put down malls because that in itself is not an activity. We want parents and children to have a varied choice of stuff that they can do,” said JC.
The map is retailing at Sh750 and can be purchased at Spinners Web along Peponi Road or Lang'ata Link in Lang'ata. For more information on how to get a hold of the children's activity guide, call 0724 940 581.
