Kenyan children have a chance to go Easter egg hunting early this year at the Little Dinosaurs Playgroup in Karen, Nairobi.
“It is like a treasure hunt,” said Nazia Esmail, the founder of the playgroup. “There will be chocolate eggs hidden around playground and the children will have to look for them. The ones they find, they get to keep or rather eat.”
This is the third Easter egg hunt that Little Dinosaurs Playgroup is hosting.” We were inspired to host an Easter event that was different from the usual but one that was fun and children could participate in,” she said. “For this year’s event, only children aged one to eight will take part in the activities, this is because we saw that from the previous years, the older children had an advantage over the younger ones and they shied away from participating. This year we want to engage and interact with the younger ones more.”

Other than the Easter egg hunt, there will be other Easter themed activities on the day. “It will not just be Easter egs hunting; we will also have other activities that will be more Easter focused and educative,” said Nazia.
The event is not just for children but also parents who are looking to have fun with their kids or for activities they can do with their kids. It is also a time for them to relax and catch up with friends while let their children run around and socialize with other children.
It is open for all and not just members of Little Dinosaurs play ground. “We wanted to invite anyone interested and they do not have to be members of the playgroup so that they can see what we normally do and how we interact with children and parents as well,” said Nazia.
It will take place on 19th March from 11am to 3pm; entry fee is Sh700 (inclusive of food and drinks). Children under one year get in free. To get in touch with them call: 0727550293.
