With the prevailing hot weather, a dip in a pool can completely turn around a boring weekend afternoon or a family day out. Heated swimming pools, available in some areas, can extend the fun into the night.
Here are some swimming pool locations around Nairobi where one can take their children out.

Splash Water World
It is one of the most famous swimming locations in the country and has over time become a favourite for many children.
Charging an entrance fee of Sh400 on weekdays and Sh500 during the weekends, the swimming park includes water slides, which revitalize one’s swimming experience. The pool also has diving boards for those who love the thrill of flying into the water. In addition, there is ample playing space for children to engage in other physical activities such as football and volleyball.

Bouncy castles and trampolines for children have been installed to keep the children busy when they are not swimming. For Sh2500 a day, children can enjoy the view of the Nairobi skyline while taking a swim at the at the Sankara hotel’s heated rooftop swimming pool in Westlands.
Surrounding it, is the Sankara Supper Club, where parents can have a meal and drink as their children take a dip. By day, the open air pool deck serves up refreshments like pineapple juice and light cuisines such as samosas to children as they take a break from swimming to energize.
They also offer swimming classes at an extra Sh1500 per session, which is not inclusive of their daily charges. Children have to be accompanied by their parents when visiting the Sarabi Pool.

Sadili Hotel at Lang'ata
Charging only Sh250 for entry, Sadili Hotel gives children the opportunity to have fun at its clean outdoor swimming pool from 10 am to 5pm.They also offer the facilities to schools who would like to take their students there for swimming at a discounted fee of Sh150 per student.
Across the pool is a playing field with a basketball and football pitch that the children can play on, if they get bored with swimming.
Membership costs Sh3250 per month and this guarantees one access to the swimming pool and the gym.

Hilton Hotel
At the heart of the city, Hilton hotel offers a convenient break from the hustle and bustle of the Nairobi Central Business District with its rooftop heated swimming pool.
They charge an entrance fee of Sh800 and offer swimming classes for those interested at Sh1500 an hour
