Kenyan families have a chance to learn more about art and its beauty thanks to the Kenya Museum Society. Dubbed Art Appreciation (Just) for Kids, the one day event aims to get children more interested in art.
Making use of the Kenya Museum Society (KMS) Affordable Art Show, children will learn about art.
Kids will be taken on a tour of the art show and taught different art styles, said Dorothy Mkala of the Kenya Museum Society.
Targeting children as young as six years, the tour will be led by local artist David Mwaura who runs local art business, Art Without Borders.
After the tour and learning experience, children will have a chance to come up with their own pieces.
The children will create their own art around a central tapping into their creativity inspired by the show, said Mkala. Children are therefore advised to dress appropriately in preparation to make art.
As the children work on their masterpieces, parents will be able to tour the Kenya Museum Society (KMS) Affordable Art Show all priced under Sh100000.
The Art Appreciation (Just) for Kids will run from 10am to 6pm on Saturday 24 October 2015 and costs Sh500 per child. The Kenya Museum Society Affordable Art Show on the other hand will run Friday 23 October 2015 to Sunday 25 October 2015.
