Dubbed Baby iPads, these toys are modeled after the Apple tablet computers and designed to children an early start as far as their mental abilities are concerned.

“The Baby iPad resembles the normal one but it has buttons instead of a touch pad,” said Archana Shah who sells the toys.

The iPad has various buttons which are used for different function therefore teaching a number of things in the process.

“The toy is great for kids because it helps in developing cognition from an early age,” said Archana. “The iPad has an assortment of images which pressed on give off name the pictured item. Some of these buttons a are a tree, a flower,” remarks the toy-seller.

Children can also learn mathematics from this iPad.

“The toy has the ability to ask kids various math questions and helps them solve them,” explained Archana.

Other functions of the Baby iPad are that it can teach nursery rhymes and numbers.

The battery-operated toy has hard plastic buttons which give it a longer life-span and also more suited for the children.

These plastic buttons also make cleaning it easier which just requires one to wipe it with a damp cloth.

Retailing at a price of Sh1000, the Baby iPad can be found in Nairobi and Mombasa. It can be collected at an agreed location or delivered for an extra fee of Sh200.
