A personal errands company is offering busy parents the chance to take their kids' birth certificates for processing saving parents time.
Dubbed Fastbird Kenya, the company applies for a parent’s child's birth certificate on their behalf.
“Some parents are quite busy and may not come around to applying for the certificate therefore we run this errand for them” explained Samuel who is a salesperson at Fast Bird.
In order to apply for the certificate, certain documents are required.
“We shall need a copy of the birth notification and a two copies of the identification cards of both parents”, notes the salesperson.
There are a various ways Fastbird can get a hold of these documents.
“Firstly the parents can physically bring them to our offices or scan them and send them via email”, said Samuel.
“One can also make an on line application,” he adds.
From there it is the work of Fastbird Kenya to start the application for the birth certificate by taking to the required government office and paying for it.
“The whole process can take anywhere between five to twenty days,” remarked Samuel.
Upon completion, parents can collect the certificate in person or have it delivered to their house.
This service ranges in cost between Sh500 and Sh700.
“The variation in pricing is due to the delivery cost,” explains Samuel.
Fastbird Kenya does deliver the certificate to one's home at an extra charge. The price depends on where one lives.
Payments for the service are made upon receipt of the birth certificate.
