A children's festival is giving Kenya kids a holiday getaway to Naivasha for a day meant to entice them to local tourism.  Being run by the Kids Festival, the trip will see kids travel to Naivasha Simba Lodge for a fun filled day of games, activities and competitions.

Dubbed 'My Safari', the excursion is being held to  not only give children a day of adventure but also promote local tourism.

The day promises to be filled with lots of fun activities for the children.

“Some of the stuff we have lined up for kids on this day are reading and writing competitions, storytelling, art and craft,” said Mercy Wainaina of Kids Festival.

Other activities fior the inugural one day event will include cake baking whereby children will learn how to bake and ice cakes. There will also be sports challenges such as tennis and swimming.

Children are therefore advised to carry appropriate sports wear.

Being held on Saturday 28th February, the event will run from 8am to 6pm and has limited slots of 300 kids.

For a fee of Sh3,500 for children and Sh2,500 for adults one will be able to attend the event.

“This price also includes the transportation fee which will see us leave the offices at 8am,” remarked Mercy.

Those attending the event are expected to the the Kids Festival offices on Muthangari Drive house number 40.

The event is payable via Mpesa paybill number 889085 with a deadline of 20th February.

One can also pay in installments.

“At least a 50 per cent down payment can be made so as to book a spot then you can inform us by when you shall finish paying,” said Mercy.
