Kenyan families living in Mai Mahiu have a chance to chance to celebrate this year’s Valentine’s Day by donating to a child with special needs. Dubbed the Pizza Festival, Kenyans living in this part of Nakuru to enjoy a family day out while also assisting a special needs child.
“We will be serving various types of pizza and part of the cost will be donated to children with special needs,”said Tabitha who is the event coordinator.
Starting at 11am, the event will see families enjoy a meal of pizza.
“We will begin at 11am but I advise families to be there a bit earlier,” said Tabitha. “A family pizza will cost Sh2000, half of which will be donated to charity,” she said.
Apart from the pizza, there will be numerous other activities for the whole family.
“Some of the outdoor games can expect are a bouncy castle for the children, trampoline and an arts corner,” said Tabitha.
The inaugural event will also have activities for adults such ball games for the parents.
The Ubuntu Pizza Festival is also aiming to raise awareness of various types of disabilities.
“Everyone is invited to the festival. We will have special needs children in attendance so that the able kids are aware of what happens,” said Tabitha.
A ticket costs Sh2000 and families are advised to secure theirs in advance.
“I urge parents to at least get their tickets by Friday so as to also help us in planning,” said Tabitha.
The Ubuntu Pizza Festival will be held on Saturday February 13, 2016 at Ubuntu Cafe in Mai Mahiu. Ticket payments can be made via Mpesa Till Number is 885989.
