The Nairobi Art Centre is offering Kenyan pupils and students to take part in creative activities during their mid-term break at its art camp whose theme is Vikings instead of engaging in unproductive activities.
“We will have different activities and in various classes depending on the age of the child,” said the administrator of the centre. “There will be the 3 years to 6 years old age class that will be involved in pottery, collage, cards and sword making among others.
“The junior class for the 7 to 10 year olds will be engaged in canvas painting, pottery, cards and design among other activities. For the teen class which will include 11 to 15 year olds will take on more mature art challenges such sketching, design, painting, making 3D projects, and sculpting among others.
The classes are designed to meet the specifications of every age group art-wise.
During breaks, the children will take part in non-related art activities such as playing football, on the swings, treasure hunts and badminton.
Parents are advised to pack their children lunch; however the centre will provide some snacks for the children.
The charges are: Sh2200 per day for the half day class, Sh10000 for the week. Half day activities run from 9am to 12pm. The full day prices are Sh3500 for the day and Sh15000 for the week.
Parents who enroll siblings will get a 10 per cent discount.
The half-term art camp will take place from February 13th to February 24th.
