Kenya kids interested in modelling have a chance to join the profession this Valentine’s Day at The Point Mall in Buruburu.
Under the agency, Knitwear Models, child models will be showcasing clothes for various boutiques in the mall as a pre-cursor to the annual Watoto Fashion Festival.
“On Sunday we will have try-outs for amateur child models who would like to participate in the festival in April.,” said Nic Odhiambo, founder of Knitwear Models.
For Sunday’s event, there are already five trained child models who will be participating in the catwalk but there are also some more talent for new talent.
“The audition will not be rigorous and will give a chance for children to have fun. Amateur children interested in trying out modelling will just need to register at the event then they will have a chance to walk the runway,” said Nic.
The event will act as a scouting opportunity for more child models for the upcoming Watoto Fashion Festival.
“From the registered children, we will be on the look out for the ones who have the skills we are looking for such as confidence,” said Nic.
The scouted children will then be trained further in preparation for the festival.
Children who are not participating in the fashion show will also have a chance to win prizes depending on a concept.
“Previously, we have had winners for the best dressed. Another time we had one for those who had dressed most similar to their mother,” said Nic.
The show which is meant to showcase a Valentine’s collection will take place on Sunday February 14, 2016 at The Point Mall in Buruburu. It will run from 1pm to 4pm. For more information call 0720 424 574
